From the conference Hotel, our journey begins heading to the stunning Mirogoj Cemetery, regarded as one of the most beautiful cemeteries in Europe. Designed by the renowned architect Hermann Bolle in the late 19th century, Mirogoj is more than a cemetery—it’s an open-air gallery adorned with exquisite arcades and statues. As you stroll through this peaceful haven, you’ll encounter the resting places of Croatia’s most notable figures.
Afterwards, we will go directly to Zagreb’s main railway station. This historic station was once a key stop on the famous Orient Express route. Nearby, you’ll see the majestic Esplanade Hotel, built to host the Orient Express passengers, evoking an era of glamour and luxury. The station will be our second stop.

Third stop will happen at the magnificent Croatian National Theatre, often referred to as the Opera House. This neo-baroque masterpiece, with its golden façade, stands as a proud symbol of Zagreb’s rich cultural scene.

On the way you will see parts of Zagreb’s Green Horseshoe, a sequence of 8 connected parks and squares.
From the Theater the tour continues on foot; heading to the upper town. On our way we will be able to admire the Museum of Arts and Crafts

As we embark on a walk that takes us deeper into Zagreb’s history. Our walk from the Opera House leads us towards the city’s Upper Town, where the city’s medieval charm is on full display.
As we climb towards the Upper Town we will explore the area’s rich political and cultural history. Here, you will see Parliament and the Government buildings, the center of Croatia’s political power, and the iconic St. Mark’s Church, famed for its vibrant, tiled roof that depicts the coats of arms of Croatia, Dalmatia, and Slavonia.

As we continue through Gradec(Upper town), you’ll also discover the elegant baroque St. Catherine’s Church and the historic Lotrščak Tower, which once protected the city from invaders.
Crossing from Gradec to Kaptol, we will pass through the historic Stone Gate, the only remaining medieval gate in Zagreb, still standing as a reminder of the city’s fortified past.
We will visit Ban Jelačić Square, the vibrant heart of Zagreb. This bustling square, named after the famous Croatian nobleman and military leader, is where the pulse of the city can truly be felt, surrounded by cafes, shops, and beautiful architecture.

We will then conclude our tour at Kaptol, one of Zagreb’s oldest areas, and the home of the stunning Zagreb Cathedral, the largest cathedral in Croatia. At Dolac Farmers’ Market, you’ll get a taste of local life, with colorful stalls selling fresh produce, flowers, and handcrafted goods.
To finish this unforgettable experience, you’ll enjoy a typical Croatian dinner at a cozy restaurant in Zagreb’s historical center, where you can savor traditional flavors and further engage with conference participants.
