Abstract
The Web has evolved dramatically since its
inception, and we have come to take this fast evolution for granted.
The maturation of technologies, and the increased literacy of its
users has led to the Web 2.0, involving greater use of rich media and
user generated content. This tendency is further compounded by the
gaining traction for the Semantic Web and related technologies, called
the Web 3.0 by some, and the increased competence of users. This
scenario points at interesting and exciting challenges for Web
applications and their associated design methodologies. In this talk I
will identify some of these challenges, illustrate early experiments
addressing some of them, and discuss promissing research and
development directions.
